Folks use to take care of good stuff before it became a disposable society. My bedroom furniture is Drexel, a BD gift in '60 and except for the normally hidden bed rails and of course the minor scuffing a desk chair is bound to get, still look like new even after three house moves and used by my daughter in her teen years. There's no way many of us can afford such quality today and we wouldn't have either if my dad hadn't been an officer of a fairly large chain furniture retailer that allowed him to buy at cost.
